At arriving in the morning we have a few minutes of happy welcoming play and we prepare your dog for his or her walk. We will walk your dog for 30 minutes at a chosen location. After the walk before entering the house we will clean the dog from dirt or dust then ensure he or she is comfortable giving them food agreed at the consultation (if required), leave the dog safe in the house until we return at midday.

After arriving back we will prepare your dog again for the midday group walk. Then your dog will be joining to his or her friends for the walk. We are walking the maximum of 4 dogs at the time. Pending on distance we will be either walking or driving to the chosen location. If driving your dog will be placed in a safe single crate.

The walk and play time lasts of 45 – 60 minutes pending on weather conditions.

After the walk the group will be taken back to their home. Before entering the house we will individually clean the dogs from dirt or dust and dry with a towel. Once your dog is returned home we ensure the dog is comfortable, giving them treats agreed at consultation, turning on the TV or radio. After the long and playful walk with an overall lengths of 1,5 hours (with pick up and drop off), your dog will be resting.

We will visit your dog again in the evening, take him out to a 30 minutes walk, then feed them (if required). Then assuring he or she is comfortable, put the radio or TV on. We leave and lock the house and assure your home and dog is safe until our return in the morning.

Risk assessment

Locations are chosen by the walker of Smiling Dogs. All locations has been risk assessed and passed as appropriate by the manager. Where dogs could be in potential risk (cars, horses, traffic) the client’s dog will be put on lead.

Holding a key is an important factor even if the client is at home. It is allows us to swiftly access the dog without complication.

All dogs are preferred to be off lead unless specified by the owner during the consultation. We will ensure and test if the client’s dog can recall.
